• In this book, Eckhart Tolle shows how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world.  
• Women-in-Touch  -  WIT meets on the last Wednesday of the month for dinner and special programs designed with .   Next meeting is Wednesday 5//28. The Potluck dinner starts at 6 p.m.  Please contact Rosie Sprague for more information.
• Men's Group - Saturday June 28th @ 8 am.   The men's group will be having a breakfast from  8-9 am in the Parish House.  Contact the Rector if you will be bringing food.

• Mission
• Summer Picnic with Old North Church - supporting Arts-in-Action:  We're invited to a fundraiser picnic at Old North on Sunday, June 22nd at 5 p.m.  Old North will provide hamburgers and hot dogs.  Sid dishers, desserts and drinks are pot luck.  Please rsvp by calling our church office at 617-242-1272, or by email to stjohns02129@verizon.net.  Several sets of Red Sox tickets have been donated.  Some will be in a drawing and some may be auctioned.  The proceeds will suppoort MissionSAFE's summer program.
• Faith-in-Action: - As part of our on-going commitment to the most vulnerable children in our community, we have launched a "Homework Club" which will meet once a week on Thursday evenings.   If you are interested in the opportunity, contact mringrose@comcast.net.
• Harvest on Vine - We collect food for distribution to our neighbors who attend the food pantry on Vine St.   Non-perishable items will be collected every Sunday for Harvest on the Vine food pantry. A basket is on the back pew of the church. Please drop any items off you wish to contribute. On the last Sunday of the month, the foods will be packed for distribution to the pantry on the first Tuesday of the month.
• Challenge Drive '08:  Turn the egg red campaign.  Help St. John's Church to crack the egg by joinging in our 2008 Challenge Drive.   Our parish community is coming togethre to raise funds to rennovate the sanctuary.   We will create a welcoming place to gather with one another and become closer to God.  We need people to establish a "nest egg" by making a challenge grant - one which will then be met by your fellow congregants.  We also need help to "turn it red" and contribute funds against a challenge grant.   Please contact the rector to establish the "hold the egg" grants at rector@stjohns02129.org.
  

Recurring Events

• Early-Riser Eucharist -- Sundays, 8:00 a.m.  The service is generally held outside in the garden, but moves inside if weather prohibits an outside service.  
• Sunday Eucharist with "Godly Play" Sunday School -- Sundays, 10:00 a.m., followed by coffee hour.  Childcare provided in our well-equipped nursery.

• Charlestown Cooperative Nursery School meets in the Parish House on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, and has developmental playgroups scheduled throughout the week.  Visit www.charlestowncooperativenurseryschool.org for details.  
• Alcoholics Anonymous meets in the Parish House on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. (youth meeting), Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. (closed meeting), and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. (open meeting).   
• Group Psychotherapy meets in the Parish House on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. (closed meeting). 
• Convivium Musicum meets in the Parish House on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.
