Worship
Worship services are held Sundays at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
St. John's celebrates Eucharist twice each Sunday morning in English, typically using the modern Rite II.
At 8:00 a.m., during the Spring, Summer, and Fall, we gather in the Forest Garden, weather permitting, very
often joined by neighborhood pets and their owners, who combine their
early morning walks with their spiritual practice.
The 10:00 a.m. service is the main service of the day, held in the
sanctuary of the church. Nursery care is provided and Sunday School is
a Montessori-based program called "Godly Play."
During Advent and Lent, we use the older Rite I at the 10:00 service,
to reflect the more penitential tone of the season and to connect us
with the poetic cadences of the Book of Common Prayer tradition.
Occasionally the Morning Prayer service is used.
